Imlil sits at about 1,740 m at the head of a valley below Jebel Toubkal, 68 km from Marrakech. It is the easiest place to get a real day in the High Atlas: out of the car and walking within an hour and a half of the city.
Your guide adapts the route to the group. The moderate option follows valley paths between villages and terraced fields; the challenging one adds longer climbs on rougher ground for bigger views.

The day
09:00 – Marrakech to Imlil
Pick-up from your hotel or riad and the drive south into the High Atlas.
10:30 – Meet your guide and start walking
A short briefing, then out along the trails between villages and terraced fields. Choose the moderate or the challenging route.
13:00 – Lunch
Mint tea and a home-cooked lunch in a family guesthouse.
14:00 – The afternoon
Keep walking on a longer route, or take a shorter, easy path back to the vehicle. The walk ends in Imlil.
15:30–16:30 – Back to Marrakech
Drive back to the city, arriving at about 17:30–18:00.
