The Ouzoud falls drop about 110 m in three steps into a gorge in the province of Azilal, about 150 km north-east of Marrakech. Paths lead down through olive trees to the pools at the bottom and up the other side.
Barbary macaques live around the falls and are often near the paths. Please do not feed them: they are protected, and feeding makes them aggressive.

The day
Morning: Marrakech – Ouzoud
Pick-up from your hotel or riad and the drive north-east through olive country.
Late morning: the falls
Walk down through the olive groves with the falls in view, with a local guide if you want one.
Midday: boat ride and lunch
An optional short boat ride close to the falls, then lunch on a terrace facing them.
Afternoon: free time and return
Climb the steps on the far side for more viewpoints and the old mills, then leave at about 16:00 for Marrakech.
