Day 1 – Marrakech → Ouarzazate → Agdz → Draa Valley → M’Hamid Depart Marrakech early morning, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Continue through Ouarzazate and the oasis town of Agdz, entering the lush Draa Valley with its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Stop to explore traditional villages and ksour before reaching M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the Sahara. Meet your camel team and enjoy a short sunset walk into the desert. Dinner and overnight in a desert camp.
Day 2 – M’Hamid → Sidi Naji → Erg Smar Begin your camel trekking adventure at a relaxed pace across desert plains and tamarisk groves. Follow old caravan routes once used by nomads. Lunch under the shade of acacia trees. In the afternoon, continue toward the dunes of Erg Smar. Watch the sunset over the dunes before dinner and overnight camping under the stars.
Day 3 – Erg Smar → Erg Chegaga Trek deeper into the Sahara toward the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga, the largest dune system in the region. Walk across vast sandy landscapes with camels carrying supplies. Arrive at Chegaga in the afternoon and enjoy free time to climb dunes or relax. Spectacular sunset, traditional dinner, and overnight in a nomadic‑style desert camp.
Day 4 – Erg Chegaga → Foum Zguid → Ouarzazate After sunrise and breakfast, leave the dunes and trek across desert plateaus and dry lake beds. Later, a 4×4 transfer takes you across remote desert landscapes to Foum Zguid, then onward through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse or lodge.
Day 5 – Ouarzazate → Marrakech Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Ouarzazate’s kasbahs or film studios. After lunch, drive back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas once more. Evening arrival in Marrakech marks the end of your 5‑day camel trekking adventure.
