Tour Itinerary

Morning (Approx. 9:00 AM): Cap Spartel & Hercules Caves

Your Tangier exploration begins with a pickup from your hotel or the Tangier port. We'll start with a scenic drive along the coast to Cap Spartel, the impressive promontory where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea converge. Enjoy breathtaking views and photo opportunities at the historic lighthouse. Next, we'll visit the nearby Hercules Caves, a place of myth and legend, famous for its stunning sea window shaped like the continent of Africa. Explore the grottoes and learn about their fascinating history and geological formations.

Late Morning: The Kasbah & Medina Exploration

We then head to the historic heart of Tangier, starting with the Kasbah. This ancient citadel offers commanding views over the city and the Strait of Gibraltar. You'll wander through its narrow, winding streets, admiring the architecture and perhaps visiting the Kasbah Museum (Dar el-Makhzen), formerly a sultan's palace, which showcases Moroccan arts and antiquities (entrance optional). Following the Kasbah, we'll delve into the vibrant Medina (old walled city), experiencing its lively atmosphere and exploring its labyrinthine alleyways.

Midday: Lunch & Petit Socco

For lunch (not included), your guide can recommend a traditional Moroccan restaurant within the Medina, where you can savor local specialties. After lunch, we'll continue our exploration, making our way to the Petit Socco (Little Square), once a notorious hub of activity and now a charming square surrounded by cafes, perfect for observing local life. We'll also pass through the Grand Socco (officially Place du 9 Avril 1947), a major roundabout and marketplace that serves as a gateway to the Medina.

Afternoon: American Legation & Free Time

In the afternoon, we'll visit the Tangier American Legation Museum. This unique historic landmark was the first American public property abroad and symbolizes the long-standing diplomatic relations between Morocco and the United States. It now houses a museum with fascinating exhibits on Moroccan-American history and art. Afterwards, depending on time, you may have some free time for shopping in the souks for handicrafts, spices, or souvenirs, or simply to relax at a café and soak in the city's unique ambiance.
